Duration: One year starting immediately with possible extension to a second year subject to satisfactory progress and mutual consent.

Qualification: Ph.D. in Computer Science or Mathematics with expertise in either computational geometry / topology or computer graphics / visualization / image processing / computer vision. Applicants who have submitted their dissertation may also apply.

Required skill set: Strong academic training in computer graphics / visualization, data structures, algorithms; experience with programming in C/C++ and software design; good communication skills and willingness to work in a team environment.

Project description: The project involves the development of new techniques and algorithms for feature extraction, visualization, and exploration of 3D time-varying data in various engineering and science applications. These data are available either from computer simulations or imaging devices. The aim of the project is to employ a topology-driven approach and develop algorithms for extracting, representing, and exploring features in the data.

Salary: Starting salary will be based on IISc norms for Research Associate. This is currently Rs. 36000 + 30% HRA for a fresh graduate (Rs. 30000 + 30% HRA if degree not yet awarded). Yearly increments will be based on performance, experience, and according to IISc rules.
