I obtained my B.Tech at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi in 1968, and my MS and PhD at the University of Maryland, College Park in 1971 and 1972 respectively. I was a visiting Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Maryland until June 1973. I am currently Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Automation , where I have been since 1974. I am a member of both the Theory Group as well as the Systems Group in the Department.
