Shivani Agarwal

Shivani Agarwal is an Assistant Professor and Ramanujan Fellow in the Department of Computer Science and Automation at IISc. She received her PhD in Computer Science at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, followed by a postdoctoral stint at the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at MIT. Her research interests include machine learning and learning theory, in particular the study of ranking and other new learning problems, as well as applications of machine learning methods, particularly in the life sciences.

Arpit Agarwal

Arpit received his B.Tech.(honours) in Computer Science from Kamla Nehru Institute of Technology, Sultanpur, and his ME in Computer Science & Engineering from IISc. His research interests include machine learning for practical prediction problems.

Harikrishna Narasimhan

Harikrishna received his BTech in Computer Science from College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University, and his ME in Computer Science & Engineering from IISc. His research interests are centered around the design of new machine learning algorithms for solving practical prediction problems. He is also passionate about teaching. He is a recipient of the Google India PhD Fellowship in Machine Learning.


Arun Rajkumar

Arun received his BTech in Computer Science from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore. After working for a couple of years at Cisco Systems in Bangalore, he joined the MSc (Engg) program in the CSA Department at IISc. For his work during this time, he received the Prof. MNS Swamy Medal for Best MSc (Engg) Thesis. His research interests include machine learning, learning theory, and spectral graph theory. He is a recipient of the Microsoft Research India PhD Fellowship.

Siddarth Ramamohan

Siddarth received his Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology, Bangalore University, following which he has several years of industry experience. His research interests include machine learning, natural language processing and computational cognitive modeling.

Harish Guruprasad Ramaswamy

Harish received his BTech in Electrical Engineering from College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University, and his ME in Systems Science & Automation from IISc. His research interests include the interface of statistics, learning theory, and convex analysis, and currently center on statistical consistency properties of algorithms for multiclass learning and structured prediction tasks. He is a recipient of the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) PhD Fellowship.


Aadirupa Saha

Aadirupa received her B.E. in Computer Science & Technology from Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur, and her ME in Computer Science & Engineering from IISc. Her research interests include machine learning & game theory, in particular learning predictive models from incomplete data sets and connection between online learning & prediction markets.

Rohit Vaish

Rohit received his BTech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur and MSc in Robotics, Systems and Control from ETH Zurich. His research interests include understanding the connections between machine learning and game theory.
